Build a website on a $15 computer
A Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W is enough to learn Linux and host a simple static website.
Prepare the Pi
Install Raspberry Pi OS Lite 64-bit using Raspberry Pi Imager. Configure your username, hostname, networking and SSH during imaging.
Install a web server
sudo apt update
sudo apt install nginx -y
sudo systemctl enable --now nginx
curl http://localhostPublish HTML
Place an index.html file in /var/www/html/. Visit your Pi's LAN IP address from another device on the same approved network.
Learn how it works
systemctl status nginx
sudo nginx -t
sudo tail -f /var/log/nginx/access.log
sudo ss -tlnpKeep management ports private. For public hosting, use HTTPS and a carefully secured tunnel or reverse proxy.
